Ella Ewart-Pierce, Public Health Advisor
About Me
Public health practice in the U.S. is evolving rapidly. Let’s face these challenges wisely, together.
I’m a public health strategist, policy translator, and problem-solver who believes that progress happens when good ideas meet good people and a practical plan. For 20 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of health equity, systems change, and community partnership, helping organizations turn evidence into action and policy into impact.
At Pierce Health Consulting, we’re committed to scientific integrity, health equity, inclusion, and effective programs. Let’s work together to create and sustain programs that show results with integrity—ultimately building stronger teams, smarter strategies, and healthier communities. Together, we will build resilient programs by turning evidence into action, expanding access so that all communities can thrive.
I led initiatives across the southwest U.S. and collaborated with 68 tribal nations to improve maternal health, strengthen the community health workforce, and modernize regional systems of care with federal, state, tribal, and local governments. I founded and developed a Maternal Health Alliance of more than 340 organizations and 1,100 collaborators. I also developed a Health Equity Community of Practice where more than 650 public health practitioners came together to improve health for all. I’ve managed federal grants of about $40 million that achieved health equity outcomes in vulnerable communities.
My earlier chapters include leading WIC program modernization for states and tribes, and supporting global health research at the National Institutes of Health. I served in multiple leadership roles with the Peace Corps across South America and the Pacific Islands.
I hold a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University. When I’m not developing strategy decks or facilitating workshops, you can find me supporting my local school district on the school health advisory group, teaching leadership courses, mentoring students, and designing training programs for community health workers.
Through Pierce Health Consulting, I help organizations strengthen teams, simplify complexity, and scale what works — with a blend of curiosity, evidence, empathy, and resiliency.
